Journal- Obstacles teens have to face

These days there is many obstacles teens have to face that may not have been present a few years ago. In my opinion teens have to face many obstacles that were not present in our parents generation. These days we have obstacles with technological advancements, the rising gasoline prices, and the growth of drugs in the schools. Most of these obstacles that teens face weren't present in our parents generation.

First, there are many technological advancements that were not present in our parents generation. These days teens have a hard time focussing on their studies due to online social groups such as Facebook and MSN. Our parents did not have these so it was much easier for them to concentrate with school. Also some teens are not that good with all this technology but it is crucial when they get a job. When our parents were teens they did not have to worry about technology.

Second, the gasoline prices were not a obstacle in the past generations. A lot of teens purchase cars these days because it makes it easier to get to school. Before teens did not have to worry about gas prices because they were fairly cheap. Now gas is really expensive and it is very costly to own a car. So many teens are suffering because they can't afford a car. Without a car it is harder to get to school. Are parents did not have to worry about this.

Finally, there is a growth of drugs in high schools. When our parents went to high school there wasn't much drugs around schools. Although there was some drugs during our parents generation it is nothing compared to the amount of drugs in schools today. Drugs are very accessible in schools and it is a major obstacle that teens face. It is very hard to avoid them but it is not impossible. It's just much more harder to avoid drugs then it was when our parent went to school.

There are many obstacles teens face that parents did not have to. . These days we have obstacles with technological advancements, the rising gasoline prices, and the growth of drugs in the schools. Most of these obstacles that teens face weren't present in our parents generation.

  2. I completely agree with you they’re many obstacles that we have to face today that were not present in our parents generation. I believe technology is probably the best example of one of those obstacles because their was no such thing as face book or twitter in their generation. They did have anything to distract them from the things that matter in life like academics.

  3. The blog adresses the prompt fairly well. The point of the blog is established clearly, it provides adequate context, provides room for response but it doesn't refer to the text enough.
